The cause of a mobile explosion that occurred in the Biggersville area in December has been determined, according to the state fire marshal’s office.

Cynthia Hughey, who lived at the residence, was found deceased after the explosion, which occurred the night of Dec. 28 on County Road 514 in the Oak Grove community of Alcorn County.

It was an “accidental explosion caused by an uncovered, open gas line,” according to a statement issued by the state fire marshal’s office to Corinth Today on Thursday.

Hughey was employed in the cafeteria at the Biggersville school and was fondly remembered by many people as a hard worker and kind person.
