By Josh Mitchell/Corinth Today

Alcorn County Coroner Jay Jones has identified the victim in a fatal one-vehicle crash Monday night.

Jones identified the deceased driver as Wesley Pinkston, 55, of Corinth.

Pinkston was killed in the vehicle wreck on County Road 700, also known as Wenasoga Road. The wreck happened in the area of 1680 County Road 700 and was reported at around 9:38 p.m, Sheriff Ben Caldwell said.

It appears Pinkston was traveling east, exited the roadway on the left side and struck a tree. Pinkston was wearing a seatbelt, and was the only person in the vehicle, Caldwell said.
