Free clothes and school supplies for children will be available this Saturday at the Corinth Boys & Girls Club from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the Second Semester Back to School Bash.

There will also be a free cookout.

People can donate clothes, which should be in very good condition, and school supplies at the Boys & Girls Club to be given to youth. The club will be open from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday for donations and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

School supplies that make good donations include loose leaf paper, backpacks, pencils and folders.

The Saturday event is sponsored by the nonprofit Mending Hearts Outreach, which is under the umbrella of Cypress Creek First Baptist Church in Selmer, Tenn.

Mending Hearts Outreach serves north Mississippi and western Tennessee. It started in 2010 and serves the needs of youth and senior citizens in an effort to bridge the gap between the two groups, said Executive Director Willie Gates III of Corinth.

The Order of the Eastern Star, Lusk No. 464 will donate coats to this event. Many people and businesses provide support including Corinth Coke, Roger’s Super Market, Kimberly-Clark, Walmart and others.
