Numerous departments responded to a house fire in the Wenasoga area on Christmas Eve morning.

No one was hurt in the fire, which was reported at around 6 a.m., Wenasoga Fire Chief Perry Stricklin said.

It occurred about one mile outside of the Corinth city limits at 1666 County Road 700.

Fire departments from Wenasoga, Kossuth, Biggersville and Corinth responded as well as the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office, the highway patrol and ACE Power.

The fire was fully involved when it was reported, and there was also heavy damage to a pickup truck, Stricklin said. No one was at the house, and the cause of the fire was undetermined, he said.

Firefighters were on scene about two hours.
