Two people were shot Wednesday night at a Corinth residence, and a man was taken into custody.
The man who was taken into custody had not been charged as of Wednesday afternoon, said Corinth Police Detective Heather Russell.
A man and a woman were shot with a handgun in the incident, which occurred at about 7 p.m. in the driveway at a Beechwood Circle residence.
Names of those involved in the incident were not being released Thursday, but Russell said they are all Corinth residents.
The female who was shot drove herself to the hospital, and the male who was shot was driven to the hospital by someone else, Russell said.
On Thursday morning, the female was listed in critical but stable condition, and the man who was shot was in stable condition. Information on where they were shot on their bodies was unavailable.
Witness reports indicated that the two males got into an argument. The alleged shooter also had abrasion-type injuries. The woman may have tried to break up the dispute between the men.
The nature of the argument was still being looked into.
