Local Restaurant Inspections for the Week

Staff reports

Several local restaurants received “A” grades during inspections from the Mississippi State Department of Health in the past week.

The restaurants that received A ratings are:

Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant, 408 S. Tate St., Corinth;

Daylight Donuts, 2005 Highway 72 W., Corinth;

JuJu’s Shrimpboat Cafe, 1907 E. Shiloh Road, Corinth;

Double Barrel Cafe, 103 County Road 601, Walnut.

These were the only local restaurants with inspections in the past week.

Food establishments in Mississippi are inspected a minimum of one to four times annually depending on the level of risk. The highest risk level is for facilities that do a large volume of food service and have multiple processes such as cooking, cooling, reheating and processing.

An “A” grade means the facility inspection found no critical violations. Critical violations of the state food code are those more likely to lead to food contamination, illness, or other health risk.

There are three grade levels— A, B and C.

This grading system appears in all restaurants and food facilities such as school cafeterias, day care centers, and cafes and bars.
