Meth Was Allegedly in Suspect’s Possession, Sheriff’s Office Says

A 54-year-old Walnut man was recently arrested in Alcorn County after he was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana, according to Sheriff Ben Caldwell.

Scott Crum, of County Road 755, Walnut, allegedly possessed about 6 grams of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana, a sheriff’s office news release said.

The arrest occurred after Alcorn County Deputy Mackie Sexton stopped a vehicle driven by Crum on County Road 766 for a traffic violation, the release added.

Crum was transported to the Alcorn County Jail where he was charged. He remained in jail Wednesday morning on a $5,000 bond set by Justice Court Judge Jimmy McGee.
