A 26-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly entering another motorist’s lane of traffic and causing an accident on Shiloh Road last week, Corinth Police say.
The Jan. 28 incident occurred after the suspect, Jonathan Lambert, got into a quarrel with the female motorist at a residence earlier, according to police.
After she left the residence, Lambert went to find her and saw her vehicle approaching his truck on Shiloh Road, Corinth Police Detective Dell Green said.
Lambert then allegedly swerved into her lane of traffic in an attempt to get her to stop, and there was a collision, Green added.
She was transported to the hospital with some superficial injuries such as cuts and scrapes, Green said.
Lambert was initially arrested for having a suspended license and also had no proof of insurance, police say. Lambert was later charged with aggravated assault considering the circumstances and the fact that he allegedly entered the other lane of traffic intentionally, Green said.
In some circumstances a vehicle can be considered a deadly weapon, Green noted.
On Thursday, Lambert was still in jail. Lambert was on probation, and the Mississippi Department of Corrections had a hold on him, according to Green.
It is unclear what Lambert was on probation for.
