Police have a 17-year-old suspect in custody in the fatal shooting of a store clerk this morning, Corinth Police Chief Ralph Dance said.
The store clerk, Kris Ledlow, 43, of Corinth, was shot multiple times this morning at the Mapco station on U.S. 72 East around 5:30 and died later at the hospital.
The chief would not release the suspect’s name, saying that he is a juvenile and has not been officially charged.
The suspect was turned in by his parents, the chief said.
The chief said the suspect who is in custody is believed to be the shooter.
Another suspect was still being sought.
The suspects attempted to rob the clerk, and she hit the panic button, the chief said.
The shooter went behind the counter and shot her multiple times with a small-caliber handgun, the chief said.
