The manager of Back Yard Burgers on South Harper Road in Corinth said the fire suppression equipment at her restaurant works correctly.
“Yes, it works correctly,” Manager Rene Wilson told Corinth Today.
A small grease fire occurred at the restaurant Thursday morning.
Corinth Fire Department Capt. Chris Duncan told Corinth Today that it was unknown if the restaurant’s fire suppression equipment was working properly.
But Wilson said,“The fire never got high enough, and it didn’t even get hot enough.”
She added, “The degrees didn’t even reach 365. It was nothing major.”
The Corinth Fire Department put out the fire.
District Manager Joe King said there was no danger to the public or the employees and that no damage occurred.
Asked if the fire suppression equipment was working properly, King said, “Oh yeah, the fire wasn’t big enough to actually pull the Ansul system, and it didn’t go off automatically because it has to heat to a certain degrees, 365 degrees, and it was nothing. It was just a small fire.”
Wilson agreed, saying, “It wasn’t that hot. That’s why our fire extinguishers up top didn’t go off.”
