The Corinth-area forecast today calls for snow this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis.
The city of Corinth Street Department has been making preparations to treat roads if the snow hits the area, according to Street Commissioner Philip Verdung.
The snow could be heavy at times, and there could be thunder. Snow and sleet accumulation could reach 3 to 5 inches.
The high is near 32, and wind gusts could reach 30 mph, according to the weather service.
Ice accumulation of a tenth of an inch is possible.
There is also a 40 percent chance of snow tonight, mainly before midnight.
Corinth is under a winter storm warning until tonight at 6 p.m.
Saturday is mostly sunny with a high near 32 and a low Saturday night of 14.
The high Sunday is near 38, and warmer temperatures are expected to return Monday with a high near 50.
