Sponsors are being sought for the Candy Classic Tennis Tournament, which raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Corinth tennis tournament is a memorial for Candy Hammond and Amber Peeks, who died from childhood cancers.
Last year, $16,000 was sent to St. Jude. This is the 40th year for the tournament, and the goal is to raise $20,000.
Checks can be made out to Candy Classic or directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and mailed to Candy Classic, 141 County Road 8050, Booneville, MS 38829.
Platinum sponsors provide $750 and up; Gold, $500-$749; Silver, $250-$499; Bronze, $100-$249; Patron, $20-$99.
The adult tournament will be May 3-5, and the junior tournament is May 10-12.
There will be a lesson/fun day for beginner children 10 and under on June 1 from 10 a.m.-noon.
The tournament takes place at Corinth High School.
