A Glen auction house offers fun and great deals, the co-owner said.
There are auctions every Tuesday and Saturday night starting at 5:30.
The auction has “just about whatever you could imagine,” said co-owner Trish Henderson.
Auctions by Rod LLC is located at 2394 U.S. Highway 72 E., Glen. It was previously located in Rienzi for three years but moved to Glen about a year ago.
There is seating for the public and a cafe that sells food, including hamburgers, barbecue nachos, slugburgers, taco salads and ice cream.
Henderson owns the auction with Rodney Sartain, who is also the auctioneer.
The auction sells a wide variety of merchandise such as antiques, furniture, tools and even packaged food.
“You never know what the dealers are going to bring,” Henderson said. “We have one dealer who brings all sorts of antiques.”
There are about four to eight dealers at each auction, and Auctions by Rod also does estate sales. There are new and used items for sale.
People have come to the auction from throughout the region, including Tupelo, Tennessee and Alabama.
“If you’ve never been, it would be something that you could definitely get hooked on,” Henderson said. “You can get awesome deals.”
Some people buy items at the auction to resell.
The auction house was recently expanded, and central heat and air was added. More parking will soon be added.
“We’re a family auction; we like to treat everyone as family . . . We like to cut up with our crowd.”
The auctions draw good crowds, and Henderson said, “The Lord’s just really blessed us.”
“We are continually having new faces that quickly become friends that are coming to our auctions,” Henderson said.
The auction accepts cash, check and credit/debit cards.
