There is now a race for Alcorn County constable Post 2.
Incumbent Democrat Wayne Duncan is running against Democrat Roger Voyles, who previously served as constable for 16 years.
Duncan is currently in his first term as constable.
Voyles served four terms as constable until he unsuccessfully ran for sheriff in the last election.
Duncan said he is seeking re-election because he enjoys working with the public and making the community a safer place for families and children.
Duncan added that he has worked in some type of law enforcement capacity for 17 years, including as a reserve deputy for the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office in the past.
Voyles said he has worked 33 years in law enforcement, which includes his 16 years as an Alcorn County constable and experience with police departments in Corinth and Savannah, Tenn. He currently works for Abby Manufacturing in Walnut.
Voyles said he is seeking to be elected as constable again because he enjoys helping people.
