An Alcorn County murder case from more than two years ago remains open, according to Sheriff Ben Caldwell.
The body of Jorge Olivera, 37, of Corinth, was found May 12, 2016— about two and a half years ago — with multiple gunshot wounds on the side of County Road 418 about one mile south of the intersection with County Road 419, according to Caldwell.
Anyone with information on the murder investigation is urged to please call the sheriff’s office at (662) 286-5521.
A motorist called 911 and reported seeing a possible body on the side of County Road 418 shortly after midnight May 12, 2016.
The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office followed up on the call and discovered a deceased male with multiple gunshot wounds.
The location where the body was found is south of the city of Corinth in an area between Highway 45 and Salem Road.
