Mr. Vernon “Zonie” Cornelius, age 78, of Corinth, Mississippi, passed from this life on Sunday, December 2, 2018. A celebration of his life is scheduled for 1 PM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at South Shiloh Full Gospel Church in Shiloh, Tennessee.
Bro. James Newcomb and Bro. Larry Adair will officiate. The family will begin receiving guest at 11 AM on Friday.
Mr. Cornelius was born on December 29, 1930, in Marshall County, Alabama,to Ernest and Nellie Bashears Cornelius. He worked on Tow Boats.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Harold Cornelius, Ronnie Cornelius, David Cornelius, and James Cornelius; sisters: Bobbie York and Tina Murphy.
To carry on his memory he leaves a son: Vernon Earnest Leon “Buster” Cornelius of Lexington, Kentucky; daughters: Wendy Cornelius and Nell Mattingly both of Savannah, Tennessee. He also leaves a sister, Hattie Davis of Counce, Tennessee, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
