“It’s so beautiful!” a pre-kindergarten student exclaimed in amazement as she entered the Kossuth Elementary School cafeteria Monday morning.

KES cafeteria employees and family members came in over Thanksgiving break and spent their own money to elaborately decorate the cafeteria for Christmas.
The decorations show how skilled and creative the staff members are, said Manager Delauren Sweeney, who referred to employees as “Living Pintrest apps.”
“They love the kids,” Sweeney said, adding that it is fun to hear the reactions when the children see the decorations. “I think it’s awesome.”
Not only are the decorations creative but they are also economical. Snowmen were made out boxes from the cafeteria, and table arrangements were made out of large vegetable cans that were painted.
