Services to celebrate the life of John Aaron Gifford, Sr., 68, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Presbyterian Shiloh Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time all at the Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church.
John died peacefully on November 20, 2018 at his residence. His wonderful life began on January 27, 1950 when he was born to the late Walter Lee and Lola Mae Wooten Gifford. He loved God’s wonderful outdoors where he loved to fish, hunt, and ride horses until his health wouldn’t allow it anymore.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Patsy Mitchell Gifford; sons, John Jr. and wife Jenny, Jason and wife Jana; five-grandchildren, Kylie, Jenna, Alexis, John Micah and Erin. Four caring brothers and four loving sisters and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers will be John Micah Gifford, Keith Mitchell, Woody Rider, Chad Gifford, Wade Gifford and Brandon Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
