Services for Sue Stennett Rice, 77, are scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 3:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in Henry Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:45 in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church.
Sue died on Friday, November 16 at Magnolia Regional Hospital. She was born on September 26, 1941 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late William Corden Stennett and the late Lillie Mae Whatley Stennett. She was a graduate of George S. Gardiner High School in Laurel, Mississippi and enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a legal secretary for Price, Krohn and Mclemore in Corinth, Mississippi and later First Tennessee Bank.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was an active member in the choir and the Jo Anderson Hand Bell Choir. She was a past president of the Junior Auxiliary of Corinth, volunteered with the Amen Food Pantry and was an active member of the Lunch Bunch. She enjoyed many activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Tay Baucum (Zeb), Laurel, Mississippi and Terre Smith (Orma) ,Corinth, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Zeke Baucum, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Madelyn Baucum, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Caroline Baucum Blackwell (Tyler) Laurel, Mississippi, Stennett Smith, Cape Town, South Africa, Hack Smith, Corinth, Mississippi;Great-grandchild, Jillian Kate Blackwell; sister, Judy Cockerham, Hattiesburg, Mississippi and nieces Laura Buisson (Ben) Nashville, Tennessee, and Jenny Yarbrough (Lowry) Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be spouses of the Lunch Bunch: Michael Boston, Dr. Bob Davis, Charles Ellington, Jimmy Fisher, Sammy Kemp and Bailey Williams.
The Reverend Waring Porter will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The Lighthouse Foundation, Post Office Box 2121, Corinth, Mississippi 38834.
