A landmark Corinth restaurant that closed this year is coming back under new ownership.
The iconic Lil’ Chicago on South Parkway is returning under a new name — JoJo’s Lil’ Chicago — said Cecil Rhoads, who will own the restaurant with his daughter Jordan Mullins.
Currently, the new owners are remodeling the restaurant from “floor to ceiling,” Rhoads told Corinth Today on Saturday. It is expected to open by January.
“This is a business Corinth knows and enjoys,” Rhoads said.
He was good friends with the late Charlie Hudson, who owned the business after living in Chicago. Hudson would be “proud” to see Lil’ Chicago reopening, Rhoads added.
The menu will be similar to what it was previously with selections such as Italian beef and Vienna dogs. But there will also be some new additions to “dazzle the town,” said Rhoads, adding that an outdoor patio bistro will be added.
Boot Store
The building next to Lil’ Chicago, which used to be a pub, will be the new location of the Bar None boot store, which has been in Rhoads’ family for 46 years. It used to be in Corinth on the other side of the bridge by McDonald’s but is now in Guys, Tenn.
Bar None is expected to open in Corinth in mid-summer and will carry major brands of cowboy, motorcycle and work boots and possibly some apparel. The business will also service motorcycles.
