A Glen woman was arrested by the Corinth Police Department on an embezzlement charge this week, an official said.
Dana Brook Harland, 39, of County Road 252, allegedly embezzled cash and merchandise with a value estimated at several thousand dollars, Corinth Police Department Detective Capt. Dell Green said.
Officials are still calculating a more precise figure on the amount allegedly embezzled, Green noted.
Harland had been employed for about three months at the Corinth business. (Corinth Today is choosing not to release the name of the business at this time).
Police were notified of the alleged embezzlement on Oct. 6, and a warrant was soon issued for Harland’s arrest. She was arrested this week at her current place of employment, which is also in Corinth.
Harland had no criminal history, and the embezzlement charge will be presented to a grand jury.
She has been released from the Alcorn County Jail after posting a $15,000 bond.
