There were no life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 45 South and Wheeler Grove Road on Wednesday morning, officials said.

The wreck occurred at about 7:52 a.m., and involved a minivan and car.

The back of the minivan had significant damage, and the car reportedly rolled numerous times before coming to rest upside down about 100 yards from the intersection.

The car landed in the front yard of a home next to Biggersville Pentecostal Church.

One person was in each vehicle, and both were transported to Magnolia Regional Health Center by ground ambulance, Biggersville Fire & Rescue officials said.

Air ambulance was initially called but was canceled once it was determined the injuries were non life-threatening, said Kerry Cummings, Biggersville Fire & Rescue deputy chief.

A trail of wreckage, including a wheel, bumper and other debris, showed the path the car took as it careened off the road and through a ditch.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol and Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office also responded to scene.
