Flu shots are now available at Shiloh Apothecary, 2049 E. Shiloh Road, Corinth.
Shiloh Apothecary has flu shots for people ages 7 and up. It offers a high dose flu vaccine for people 65 and older and also has a shot for those allergic to eggs.
No appointment or prescription is needed to get a flu shot at Shiloh Apothecary, said Pharmacist Stephanie Mathis.
Corinth Today News Editor Josh Mitchell received his flu shot at Shiloh Apothecary on Monday, and it only took a couple of minutes.
Most insurances fully cover the flu shot, and those without insurance can pay cash.
Everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu vaccine every year before flu season begins, according to the CDC.
Mathis noted that people 65 and older often get their two recommended pneumonia shots at the same time they receive the flu vaccine. Shiloh Apothecary offers both pneumonia vaccines —Prevnar and Pneumovax.
The pharmacy also has the shingles shot, which is 95 percent effective and recommended for people 50 and older. Those who are 60 and over can receive the shingles shot, Shingrix, without a prescription, Mathis said.
Shiloh Apothecary is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The family-owned business is located at the intersection of East Shiloh Road and North Harper Road.
