When Will Marshalls Open in Corinth?

The exterior of the Marshalls building in Corinth appears complete, but a building permit still has not been obtained for the interior renovation, according to the city. Marshalls said Monday that it may open “sometime this fall.”

From the outside of the building, it appears that the Marshalls department store on U.S. 72 East could open any day.

A brand new Marshalls sign, paint job and building facade make it appear as though the ribbon cutting could happen this week.

A banner with the words “Coming Soon. Your Surprise Is Waiting” has also been attached to the front of the building.

Marshalls responded to questions from Corinth Today on Monday morning about the status of the opening. A Marshalls statement said, “We anticipate that a new Marshalls store may open in Corinth sometime this fall.”

Work remains to be done on the inside of the building, according to city of Corinth building department officials.

City Building Official Greg Tyson said a permit has not been obtained to renovate the interior of the building.

“Nothing on the interior has been started,” according to Tyson, who did not know when work would begin.

Documents filed in March with the Alcorn County Chancery Court show the landlord as Harper Square I CMS, LLC of Ponte Verda Beach, Fla. and the tenant as Marshalls.

Harper Square I CMS, LLC was not immediately available for comment Monday morning.

Harper Square Mall, the shopping center where the Marshalls space is located, has seen major improvements in the past couple of years.

Hobby Lobby opened in the center in July of 2017, and ALDI opened this summer.

But the Sears Hometown Store in the shopping center closed this summer.
