Corinth Coke is honored to be just one of four Coca-Cola bottling locations around the world to compete for a prestigious award in Moscow, Russia on Friday.
The public is invited to the Corinth Coca-Cola Museum, 601 Washington St., on Friday at 1 p.m. to celebrate inclusion in the international competition and to await the results, which should be known around 3 p.m.
Corinth Coca-Cola is representing North America in the 2018 Candler Cup competition. Coca-Cola bottling partners from Argentina, Romania and New Zealand are also competing for the global business award.
Corinth Coke and the three other bottling partners in the competition have demonstrated “excellence in execution,” a Coca-Cola news release said.
The competition recognizes the four bottling partners from around the globe who most directly demonstrate excellence in execution.
Corinth Coke earned its spot as one of the four finalists by winning the market execution competition in North America last year.
The Candler Cup, named for Asa Candler, the Coca-Cola leader who granted the first bottling franchise, is a prestigious award honoring executional excellence across Coca-Cola’s worldwide bottling system.
“Just being selected to go to Moscow is humbling,” Corinth Coca-Cola President Kenneth Williams said in a Coke news release. “From among the many bottlers in North America, we were chosen to represent our continent in this global Coca-Cola system competition. It is not only an honor, but a great chance for us to showcase Corinth, our region, our nation and all of North America on the world stage. We’ve already won just by being selected to compete in Russia.”
The Candler Cup award is a 17-inch tall custom-commissioned Waterford Crystal cup awarded to the winner.
