Legendary eater and Corinth slugburger superstar Joey “Jaws” Chestnut set a new world record Wednesday during the Nathan’s Famous hotdog eating contest in Coney Island, N.Y. when he consumed 74 hotdogs in 10 minutes.

Chestnut, who has won the World Slugburger Eating Championship in Corinth the past three years, beat his own hotdog eating record of 72, which he set last year in Coney Island.

His Mustard Belt victory Wednesday marked the 11th time he has won the Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July hotdog eating contest, which has become an American staple.

Chestnut always has nice comments about the Corinth community when he competes in the World Slugburger Eating Championship in July.

Chestnut, of California, ate 35 slugburgers with pickle, mustard, onion and bun in 10 minutes last year in Corinth.

He consumed 41 slugburgers the year before, just two short of the world record of 43, which was set by Matt Stonie in 2014.
