Corinth High School Salutatorian Lauren Kate Drewry knows how to succeed.
Drewry was ranked sixth in her class when she was a freshman, but she was determined to reach the No. 1 or 2 spot.
Her speech at Friday night’s graduation ceremony at the Crossroads Arena will discuss perseverance.
Drewry has attended Corinth schools since she was in kindergarten, and it is hard to believe she is at the end of this journey. She is going to miss her friends as she goes to Ole Miss to major in journalism.
The dance team and theater were very important creative outlets for Drewry in high school. She had many great teachers, and some who really inspired her were Sarah Alexander, Phillip Henson and Kelly Treadway.
Journalism is a good field for Drewry to pursue since she has been told by teachers that she has a talent for writing.
Drewry’s parents, Katie and Steve, have been her biggest supporters and have always pushed her to do her best. They have offered her much encouragement.
Her best friend, Macy Moore, is valedictorian, and Drewry is very happy for her. They have been friends since they were little children and grew up together in the Corinth schools.
