There will be two new principals in the Alcorn School District when school starts back.

Sam Roberts will be the new Kossuth High School principal, and Alex Bondurant will be the new Kossuth Middle School principal, Superintendent Larry Mitchell said Monday.

Roberts was the Kossuth Middle School principal for five years, and Bondurant was the middle school assistant principal for more than four years.

They will begin their principal new roles July 1, Mitchell said.

Travis Smith, who was the Kossuth High School principal for three years, was reassigned to the district office to serve as curriculum coordinator, Mitchell noted.

Roberts has worked in education for nearly 15 years, and Bondurant has about a decade of experience.

Roberts worked as a teacher and coach at Yazoo County High School and Shannon High School for a total of nine years before becoming the Kossuth Middle School principal.

Roberts and Bondurant both have master’s degrees from Delta State University in educational leadership.

Bondurant taught world history, Mississippi studies and world geography for nearly five years at South Panola High School prior to becoming the Kossuth Middle School assistant principal.
