CPD Official Selected for Prestigious FBI National Academy

By Josh Mitchell/Corinth Today

A Corinth Police Department official is one of two law enforcement officers in the state selected to attend the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va.

Detective Capt. Dell Green will soon participate in the 10-week training, which includes college-level courses and a physical fitness program.

Green said he is “very humbled” to be selected for the program. He applied for the national academy about two years ago at the recommendation of Police Chief Ralph Dance.

The academy draws law enforcement from throughout the world and helps prepare them for leadership roles.

Green will have the opportunity to take part in courses such as crisis negotiation and behavioral science.

Taking part in the academy is a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity, Green said. The training will be of value in his day-to-day duties at the Corinth Police Department, he noted.

The “high-level” training Green receives at the national academy will be a great benefit for the police department and basically free of charge, Chief Dance noted.

I couldn’t think of a better officer to send. Capt. Green is an extremely dedicated detective who pours his soul into solving crimes and getting results. Detective Capt. Green is absolutely an asset to the Corinth Police Department. This training will only make a superb detective even more effective. Having said this, it should be noted that every other detective under his command shares the same drive to solve cases and convict the responsible parties.
