A fundraiser will be held Saturday in Corinth to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in honor of 11-year-old Jaylen Garner of Corinth who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.
The fundraiser starts at 9 a.m. and will take place at The Beat, 901 S. Johns St. It will include a bake sale, fish sandwiches and other items for purchase.
“We invite the public to come out and support us,” a Taurus Club statement said. “This will be a joint effort to help St. Jude in their endeavors to care for all children. We are JayleneStrong#.”
Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer that starts in the white blood cells, according to the American Cancer Society.
The Taurus Club supports a good cause each year and chose St. Jude because Garner is “part of the community and one of our own.”
The Taurus Club of Corinth is sponsoring the event as part of the Mississippi State Federation of Colored Women’s Clubs Inc.
