Corinth Wins Third Best Water in State

The Corinth Gas & Water Department was awarded for having the third best water in the state at the 2018 Mississippi Rural Water Association Annual Conference on March 29.

The Clifford G. Worsham Surface Water Treatment Plant is a $50 million state-of-the-art surface water treatment facility. It provides treated water to the city of Corinth and serves as a wholesaler of treated water to organizations in Alcorn, Tishomingo and Prentiss Counties.

The facility can provide up to 10 million gallons per day of treated water. It provides a long-term, dependable water supply, which is vital to the economic growth in this region’s economic growth, a news release said.

The Mississippi Rural Water Association is the state’s largest water and wastewater utility membership organization.
