An 83-year-old Glen man was pronounced deceased after a piece of farm equipment apparently fell on him Saturday, officials said.
It appeared the man was trying to get some kind of wire untangled from the machine, said Alcorn County Coroner Jay Jones.
Houston Farris was pronounced dead after the incident, which occurred behind his house at 657 County Road 343.
The machine was a piece of mowing equipment that attached to a tractor and was not running when it came down on him.
The incident was reported to 911 at 3:26 p.m.
