Corinth Residents Face Drug Charges

The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office has made a number of drug arrests over the past several days, according to Sheriff Ben Caldwell.

Doyle Ray Hicks, 45, of 53 County Road 326, Corinth, was arrested Friday after Alcorn County Deputy Robert Loyd checked a suspicious vehicle stopped on County Road 400, a sheriff’s office news release said.

The deputy noticed alcohol inside the vehicle, and a pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine was allegedly seen in Hicks’ pocket, the release added. Moreover, two bags containing meth were allegedly found in Hicks’ pants pocket¬†inside a bag of fishing weights.

Hicks was transported to the Alcorn County Jail and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $10,000.

In a separate case . . .

The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office arrested Susan Strachan Myers, 47, of 15 Barnstable Road, Corinth, on Sunday.

Deputy Loyd responded to a call of a person passed out inside a vehicle at a convenience store and discovered Myers to be intoxicated, the sheriff’s office news release said.

Myers was also allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and pills, the release added.

She was transported to the Alcorn County Jail and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at $10,000.
