Corinth High School star runner Juan Ramirez has signed to join the Blue Mountain College men’s cross country team.
Ramirez, a senior, holds the 2017 Boy’s 5K title in Division 1-4A with a time of 17:42.
He was also 2nd at the MHSAA 2A-4A-6A State Cross Country Championships where he ran his personal best of 17:32.40.
Earlier in 2017, Ramirez placed 3rd at the Tupelo XC Invitational with an 18:11.74 time, and 16th at the Mississippi College Choctaw Open with a time of 17:55.01.
BMC head coach Phillip Laney said of Ramirez, “I’m very excited about signing Juan. He comes from a very strong and successful program, and I know he will bring that mentality with him to BMC. He is such a hard worker and will bring a great dynamic to our men’s program. He will have a significant impact for us next season.”
Ramirez commented, “Becoming a Blue Mountain College cross country runner is a pleasure because I get to be part of another family. I’m very thankful I have the opportunity to join such a great program. I hope to be competitive and help the team to win races, along with getting faster times. I can’t wait until I start running beside my BMC teammates.”
