The Region IV Mental Health Services administration building in Corinth took on water during heavy rains Wednesday.

A hallway was covered with water, which also pooled in an office and in part of the lobby.

Region IV Mental Health Services Interim Executive Director Jason Ramey was working Wednesday afternoon to get the problem resolved. Crews were on scene trying to stop the water from flowing into the building, and Ramey was reaching out to cleanup specialists.

The agency has insurance to cover such incidents, Ramey noted.

It appeared water came into the building after rain pooled around the bottom of a window at the base of the building. Much of the water came from a gutter that deposited a streamĀ around a landscaped area.

The water came into the building while the Region IV Mental Health Board held its monthly meeting.

It did not appear that the building would have to be evacuated, Ramey noted.

A worker attempts to stop water from entering the building as the rain falls from a gutter and collects around the base of the building by a window.
