A Rienzi man was arrested Friday after an undercover investigation resulted in two counts of sale of methamphetamine, according to Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar.
Jimmy Dewayne Nanney, 50, of County Road 8021, was already out of jail on bond from a prior meth-related indictment when he was arrested at his residence Friday on the latest charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
At the time of his latest arrest Friday, Nanney allegedly had approximately a half ounce of meth in his pocket and a half ounce of marijuana in his bedroom, according to the sheriff’s office.
Nanney faces two counts of sale of meth and one count of possession of meth, a sheriff’s office statement said.
Nanney was indicted last year for allegedly possessing more than 2 grams but less than 10 grams of meth, Prentiss County Circuit Court documents show.
Prentiss County narcotics investigator Joey Clark was the lead investigator in the latest case. He was assisted by agent Grady Smith, Booneville narcotics agent James Page and the North Mississippi narcotics unit.
The matter will be presented to the next grand jury.
