Staff reports

The Corinth Symphony Orchestra will present “An Evening in Old Vienna” on Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Coliseum Civic Center at 404 Taylor St. in Corinth.

The coliseum’s lobby will be converted into a Viennese Cafe, and famous Viennese Coffee will be served along with other beverages and a selection of homemade pastries. All concert guests are invited to attend immediately following the program.

The concert will feature music from the Broadway musical “Sound of Music,” which was filmed in the Alps near Vienna and portrayed an Austrian family during war times in Europe.

Vocalists will include Shelby Pratt and several very talented local children. There will also be beautiful waltzes and polkas of Johann Strauss and masterpieces by Bach and Beethoven, who were all born in Vienna.

The evening will be filled with beautiful, relaxing music from a time gone by but still heard every day.

Tickets are $25 per person and will be on sale at the Tourism Office, at the door and online at www.Corinthcoliseum.com.
