African-American poetry will be presented in expressive readings at the Corinth Artist Guild Gallery on Thursday (Feb. 15) from 5-7 p.m.

Crossroads Poetry Project President Autry Davis and Corinth Head Librarian Cody Daniel will read works by numerous well-known African American poets.

Daniel and Davis provide audience members with background and context for some of the poems, which span different time periods of U.S. history.

This annual event takes place during Black History Month, and the poetry covers a range of emotions and topics.

There is no charge, and the gallery is located at 609 N. Fillmore St.
