A Corinth man was arrested in Tishomingo County on Saturday and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, the sheriff’s office said.
Timothy Rashard Davis, 40, of Gaines Road, allegedly claimed ownership of the suspected meth, according to a Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Davis was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 72 in Iuka for alleged careless driving. Davis was the passenger in the vehicle, which was a rental. The driver was not on the rental agreement to operate the vehicle and showed signs of being nervous, the news release added.
Davis appeared to be asleep, and deputies were granted consent to search the vehicle and found the alleged meth in the floor of the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
Davis was transported to the Tishomingo County Jail, and his bond was set at $1,500. The case will be presented to a grand jury.
