A California man was arrested Thursday after more than 100 pounds of marijuana and 450 doses of marijuana wax were allegedly found in the bed of a pickup truck about an hour south of Corinth, the Mississippi Highway Patrol said.
George Herbert Stonebreaker, 57, of Paradise, Calif., was stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 22 near Fulton in Itawamba County, the patrol said.
Stonebreaker was charged with trafficking marijuana, and his bond was set at $50,000. He remained in the Itawamba County Jail.
The state trooper who conducted the traffic stop was with the Mississippi Highway Patrol Traveling Criminal Apprehension Program. That unit specializes in the arrest of suspects who allegedly transport illegal drugs.
The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is assisting with the case.
