Agencies responded to a pair of wrecks Tuesday afternoon in Rienzi.

The two wrecks were apparently unrelated but occurred next to each other at about the same time, said John Fair with the Rienzi Fire Department. The wrecks happened on State Highway 356 at the intersection with County Road 443.

One of the wrecks involved a vehicle crashing into a power pole. The power pole snapped, and airbags in the vehicle deployed. Three people were transported by ambulance to Magnolia Regional Health Center with minor injuries in that wreck, Fair said.

In the other wreck, it appeared a vehicle ran off the road, and knocked down a stop sign and two power boxes. No one was hurt in that crash, Fair said.

Other than the Rienzi Fire Department, the highway patrol, Biggersville Fire & Rescue, Magnolia Ambulance, the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office and ACE power responded.

The crash occurred at the intersection of State Highway 356 and County Road 443.

An apparent unrelated crash occurred at the same intersection at around the same time, officials said.
