Rienzi Home Destroyed in Tuesday Morning Fire

A firefighters battles the blaze that destroyed a house in the Rienzi area Tuesday morning at about 4:30.

A house in the Rienzi area was destroyed in a fire Tuesday morning.

Volunteer firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 235 State Highway 356 West about 2 miles from U.S. 45  at around 4:30 a.m.

The house was consumed in flames when firefighters arrived shortly after receiving the call.

Details on the incident were not immediately available since the fire was still an active incident at around 5 a.m.

The fire was reported to be under control at 6:05 a.m.

Numerous fire departments responded, including Pisgah, Rienzi, Biggersville and Southwest. The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office and ACE Power also responded.

The fire occurred at a house on State Highway 356 West, a couple of miles off of U.S. 45.
