A man was transported by ambulance to Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth with minor injuries after a wreck on U.S. Highway 45 North on Thursday morning, Biggersville Fire & Rescue Chief Jonathan Rider said.

The vehicle left Highway 45 for unknown reasons and went down an embankment, coming to rest in a ditch.

The man was the only person in the vehicle, and it was fortunate that the vehicle did not roll over considering that it hit two ditches, Rider noted.

The wreck occurred about a mile south of the Harper Road exit in the northbound lane of U.S. Highway 45 at about 10 a.m.

Biggersville Fire & Rescue was assisted on the scene by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, Magnolia Ambulance and the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck came to rest in a ditch at the bottom of an embankment along U.S. Highway 45.
