ACHS Dance Teams Achieves Many Honors

The Alcorn Central High School dance team recently received a number of big honors.

For the second year in a row, the ACHS dance team received a bid to nationals in Orlando, Fla. They were also honored with a special event invitation to perform in the pre-game performance of the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl over New Year’s.

Seniors Serenity Rorie and Mallie Kate Williams received leadership honors and were invited to march in the Varsity Spirit Spectacular Parade in Disney.

Some of the girls earned an All-American nomination—Serenity Rorie, Julian Jones, Kaitland Moore, Mallie Kate Williams, Hannah Adams, Madelyn Warren, Amelia Lokey and Kayla Duncan.

Four members—Serenity Rorie, Jyllian Jones, Kaitland Moore and Mallie Kate Williams—made the All-American team.

These high honors will allow them to participate in London, England’s New Year’s Day Parade and march in Disney’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

The team also received a “squad credentialing” certificate, and the team’s name will be added to the National Federation of State High School Associations for successfully completing the course of a Spirit Leader, Athlete, Performer, Role Model and Spirit Raiser with honors.
