A female motorist was transported to Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth with apparent minor injuries after a one-vehicle wreck in Alcorn County shortly after midnight Wednesday, officials said.

The wreck occurred near a curve on County Road 518 west of Rienzi, and the vehicle came to rest on its side in a ditch in someone’s front yard.

The driver was the only one in the vehicle, and she was taken by ambulance to the hospital, said Kerry Cummings with Biggersville Fire & Rescue.

Numerous other agencies responded to the crash as well including the Pisgah and Rienzi fire departments, the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office and Magnolia Ambulance.

Emergency personnel cleared the scene at around 2 a.m.

Shortly before this wreck, authorities responded to another crash on U.S. Highway 45 South by the 45 Truck Stop. That wreck involved an SUV and an 18-wheeler. There were no serious injuries in that crash either.
