The Kossuth High School Aggies got a “big win” over a good team Friday night, said Head Coach Brian Kelly.
The Aggies won 34-20 at Independence in the opening game of the season. Kossuth was down 20-7 with four minutes to go in the third quarter.
Independence scored 13 points in the third quarter, but the Aggies were able to turn the game around, scoring 27 unanswered points.
Kelly credited senior leadership, strong running and the offensive line.
Jaley Adams had 24 carries for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Matthew Bobo had an 8-yard touchdown run, and Hunter Brooks had a 27-yard touchdown run.
Diego Longoria was four out of five on points after touchdowns.
