A man was airlifted after a mobile home exploded Sunday morning in Alcorn County, according to an official.
The explosion occurred northeast of Kossuth at 353 County Road 632. The Kossuth Volunteer Fire Department was paged out at about 5:25 a.m., said Chief Adron Hodum.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, and the state fire marshal’s office is expected to be on scene Monday.
A man was still in the trailer when officials arrived on scene, said Hodum, adding that he did not know the person’s name. The man was conscious and talking to officials, said Hodum. The man was the only one in the trailer.
The explosion also busted out the windows of a nearby mobile home.
The Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office, ambulance personnel, ACE Power and Corinth Gas & Water also responded. Hodum said there was no fire when officials arrived on scene.
