Bill Caruth Obituary

Bill Caruth, 84, resident of Corinth, passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday, January 21, 2016, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born in Tupelo on August 14, 1931, to Cecil and Ethel Caruth. Bill attended Tupelo High School where he was an outstanding football player. He attended the University of Mississippi and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in industrial engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy with honors.
Bill and his wife, Myra, moved to Corinth in 1964 where he went to worked with Wurlizer Co. He also worked at Dana/Tyrone Co. and most recently with Timber Products where he worked in sales until his death.
Bill was a board member of Corinth Gas and Water, the Boys’ Club of Corinth, and an active member of Kiwanis Club of Corinth where he was a past president and recipient of the Kiwanian award of the year. He established the Leon Frazier Fellowship and later was a recipient of that award. He was a member of First Baptist Church Corinth. Bill was loved and admired by people of all ages, and he rarely met a stranger.
A celebration of life service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at First Baptist Church Corinth with Bro. Dennis Smith and Dr. Leonard Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life for 65 years, Myra Caruth; and special friends, Dave DeVaughn and Taft Little.
Pallbearers are Brock Thompson, Mike Kemp, Russell Gibbs, John D .Mercier, Kendall Frazier, and Kenneth Williams.
Honorary pallbearers are Kiwanis Club of Corinth, Dr. Carl Welch, Dr. Tommy Sweat, Dr. Ray Gregory Sr., Dr. Wayne Gann, Dr. Lee Childress, Dr. Phil Mathis, and H.L. Williams Jr.
